The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently launched a speech craft program with Toastmasters International for the benefit of the institute’s Corporate Level students.

The program, conducted free, will help students improve their communication and leadership skills, enhance public and presentation skills, build their confidence and also sharpen their thinking and comprehension skills.

The aim of the 10-day program is to help the students learn communication and leadership skills and have the ability to communicate effectively when they progress as Chartered Accountants.

CA Sri Lanka President Jagath Perera said the Institute not only produces Chartered Accountants for the local market but also for the global market. “Therefore, we need to compete at a global level and ensure our products are fit for such a market.”

Perera said the Institute has launched a series of programs, including the Speech Craft Program and the Financial Report Writing Workshop to help the CA students to gain a deeper understanding on the importance of communication skills. When they go on to become CAs, they will not only be good technically, but will also have the ability to communicate eloquently.

“These programs will enhance your standing as you progress professionally.

As an institute, our aim is to ensure that we continue to produce the right product for the market,” Perera said.
