CH-Havies a blockbuster

10 February, 2019

CH & FC are a much improved rugby team judging by the way they defeated Kandy SC in their last confrontation in Colombo and today (Sunday) they will be looking forward to a repeat performance in another contest this time against the current table leaders Havelock SC at the Race Course ground.

This was the same venue were CH turned tables on the defending champions Kandy SC and another scintillating performance can be expected by both teams.

Havelocks believe they can win the Dialog League title this year and with the guidance of coach Sanath Martis it may not be a distant dream.

CH who have boosted their morale will be looking forward to bring down their opponents in the rest of their fixtures and could also be eyeing the championship title.

They will be relying heavily on their most reliable place kicker in Samuel Maduwantha to bring them victory. He is the highest points scorer so far and is expected to take every opportunity at kicks at goal from any angle.

Havelocks should be aware of Maduwantha’s ability and will make a big mistake if they are to give away penalties within his kicking range.

CH should also be aware of the abilities of their forwards like Muthuthantri, Sajith Saranga, Rathya Ranatunga and Matheesha Sarathchandra who can pierce any defence.

The back division of CH with the likes of Sudam Sooriyarachchi, Adam Gauder, Anuradha Herath and Hirantha Perera are also capable of finding the gaps.

Havelocks too possess a powerful set of forwards in Shehan Dias, Senal Deelaka, Liston Flatny, Azmir Fajudeen and Rahal Delpachitra to do the needful in the loose mauls.

Havelocks also possess a reliable place kicker in Riza Mubarak who can add the extra points when needed and with both sides looking forward to finishing on top of the points table a close contest can be expected.
