Amal International School celebrates Founder's Day

Amal International School held its 28th Founder's Day celebrations at the College premises recently. This year Founder's Day was memorable as the most respected Mohamed Haji Abdul Careem Dangra and his family was present at the celebrations. Dangra was the key person who collected funds 28 years ago to build a fully fledged International School to inculcate Islamic and Sri Lankan values in children.

Hanif Yusoof the Group CEO of Expolanka and also former Chairman of Amal International School was the Chief Guest. The School Management named the newly renovated school main hall as ‘Dangra Hall’ dedicating it to Haji Dangra.

Chairman of the School Ahsroff Rumi and Principal M.M. Shazuli extended their gratitude to Dangra and his family for their immense sacrifices to build a valuable school and gifting it to the Sri Lankan community.

Chief Guest Hanif Yusoof recalling memories of Amal said that a lot of hard work and efforts were made to bring the school to the current standard. A token of appreciation was presented to Dangra Scholarship winners who received certificates from the Chief Guest. Teachers who helped prepare the students for the scholarships were also given a token of appreciation.
