NCE to conduct post-budget forum

The National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) will conduct an ‘Exporters Post-Budget Forum’ on March 8 at Hotel Galadari from 3.30 p.m. following the presentation of the Annual Budget of the Government by the Minister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera.

The forum will address taxation and fiscal issues related to the budget, their implications on the export sector, and will also clarify any issues of exporters. The Chamber has already submitted to the Ministry of Finance a comprehensive set of proposals related to the export sector for consideration and inclusion in the budget proposals. These will also be discussed at the Forum.

The Minister of Finance will be the chief guest. He will outline the salient features of the Budget related to exports. The main presentation at the forum to analyse taxation and fiscal issues will be delivered by Principal, Tax and Regulatory at KPMG, Suresh Perera.

The main presentation will be followed by a panel discussion comprising: A senior representative of Ministry of Finance, a senior representative of the Department of Inland Revenue, a senior representative of the Central Bank, Chairman Information and Communication Technology Agency, Secretary General of the Joint Apparel Association Forum, Director Research of Veritae Research, Chairperson of Export Development Board, and President of the National Chamber of Exporters

Exporters could use of this opportunity to be aware of the impact of the relevant taxation and fiscal proposals of the budget of their export operations, and as to how they could make the best use of them to enhance their businesses.
