Sri Lanka must adapt to the latest technologies to be on par with the world economy and setting up smart classrooms is just one step forward in this journey, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said. Addressing a crowd during an opening of two buildings in schools in Ganemulla Hemamali Maha Vidyalaya and Galahitiyawa Central College in Gampaha on Thursday (28) the Prime Minister said the government has taken measures to create a digital economy through a digital education system. Addressing a crowd during an opening of two buildings in schools in Ganemulla Hemamali Maha Vidyalaya and Galahitiyawa Central College in Gampaha on Thursday (28) the Prime Minister said the government has taken measures to create a digital economy through a digital education system. Distribution of tabs to A/L students had been already approved by the Cabinet, he said. “In the near future we are hoping to open smart classrooms at other schools as well in the bid to open better avenues to students,” the Prime Minister added.
