Colombo Masters declared T20 champs, finalist missing

3 March, 2019

Colombo Masters CA were declared winners of the inaugural Sri Lanka Masters (over-50) T20 quadrangular cricket tournament after the other finalist Nationalized Services Cricket Association were unable to field a team for the decider that was to be played on February 24 at the MCA ground.

Colombo Masters CA were awarded the Dr. RAH de Zoysa Challenge Shield being the champions.

However, the match for third place was won by MCA who beat State Services by seven wickets.

Electing to bat first States Services scored a challenging 158 for 5 in their 20 overs.

An unbroken partnership of 86 runs for the fourth wicket off only 48 deliveries between Sujith Sirimanne (62 n.o) and Roshan Iddamalgoda (51 n.o.) steered MCA to an easy victory with nine balls remaining.
