Sri Lanka Cricket president Shammi Silva has requesting the International Cricket Council (ICC) to release the funds withheld by the sport’s world governing body following the election of office-bearers last week.
“I will discuss with the ICC to release the funds due to SLC, which was withheld by the governing body, until an elected body was established at SLC;” Silva said before his departure.
The ICC withheld money due to Sri Lanka following the cancellation of an election nine months ago and the installation of an Interim Committee to run the affairs of cricket in Sri Lanka which did not find favour with the sport’s global keepers.
Silva also took part in an ICC board meeting and attended a Business Corporation Directors’ board meeting on Friday.
