‘America’s Got Talent’ judges Heidi and Mel B are leaving

They will definitely be missed, that’s for sure.

America’s Got Talent judges Heidi Klum and Mel B

are leaving the show for good.

Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union are taking over when the new season starts in the summer of 2019.

Heidi and Mel B both have tough schedules in 2019 that would make doing AGT difficult.

The new season of America’s Got Talent is going to look a lot different when it returns this summer, mainly because judges Mel B and Heidi Klum will not be coming back. Along with the news that Terry Crews is officially taking over for Tyra Banks as the new host, it was also announced that Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union would be joining the judging panel, alongside Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel. Of course, this begs the obvious question: why did Heidi and Mel B suddenly decide to bow out?

Let’s start with Heidi. Though the supermodel hasn’t officially declared why she decided to leave the talent show after hosting since 2013, it probably has to do with her busy schedule.

Heidi has a new reality show with Tim Gunn launching on Amazon Prime Video. In January, the two fashionistas announced via Facebook that they were casting for the untitled show.

As if that wasn’t enough, Heidi is also a star on Germany’s Next Top model.

After the finale of America’s Got Talent: The ChampionsAGT: The Champions, rumors began to swirl that she was done with hosting the show for good. A source told Us Weekly, “Tyra’s leaving on her own volition and because she wants to produce and act more.”

And so, while it’s kind of a bummer to see Tyra, Heidi and Mel B go, we can’t wait to see what Julianne and Gabrielle bring to the table. And after watching Terry bring so much fun to Champions, you know he’s going to crush it yet again when season 14 airs.
