Joes beat Antonians 38-5

St. Joseph’s College produced a superb game of rugby to beat St. Anthony’s College in their inter school rugby match at Nittawela by 38 points (5 goals and a penalty) to 5 (one try) on Friday.

The winners led 17-0 at half time. Despite the pre-match predictions of a roaring encounter the Antonian fans present failed to get their money’s worth since their favorite team failed to do well. From the beginning the Josephians showed their class in rugby.

The interesting part is that the two schools are coached by two brothers, Ronny and Nilufer Ibrahim.

Anyway, the rugby presented by the two sides was good, but the better side won. They won a major amount of possession and dominated.
