St. Peter’s College beat Kingswood College 14-7 in their inter-school League rugby match at Nittawela in Kandy yesterday.
The Peterites did all the scoring in the first half and had plenty of chances of scoring more tries in the second half but conceded too many penalties after moving close to the Kingswood try line on several occasions.
Kingswood after trailing in the first half scored a try and converted it midway in the second half to make the scores 14-7. In the dying moments of the game Kingswood came close to scoring through their forwards but the Peterite pack proved fitter and stronger to hold the home team back.
The Peterites turned over the ball and cleared it for the final whistle. ( HM)
