David Pieris Motor Company (Pvt) Ltd (DPMC) has introduced the Bajaj Qute quadricycle to the local market.

DPMC Chief Operating Officer Naalaka Madugalle said, “Bajaj QUTE is ideally suited for family or personal transportation and delivers on our promise of bringing the best from Bajaj India’s product range to Sri Lanka. Its smart and sensible design with a turning radius of 3.5m, low emissions and fuel efficiency makes it ideal for urban and rural running.

“It has been extensively tested across Sri Lanka and whether in traffic or rugged rural roads the performance has been impressive. It is also backed by DPMC’s extensive islandwide network of service and spare parts dealers. The Qute also meets the stringent European Quadricycle norms and has the European WVTA (Whole Vehicle Type Approval) certification awarded by RDW Netherlands,” he said.

The quadricycle is powered by patented DTSi technology. It has an engine capacity of 216.6 cm3 delivering 9.7 kW power at 5500 rpm and has a curb weight of less than 500 kg.

It is spacious and has an enclosed body structure, giving the driver and passengers a comfortable and safer ride.
