The opening ceremony of the new two-storied building at Savarana Muslim Maha Vidyalaya, Chillaw was held at the school premises recently, under the patronage of the Principal, S.S. Yameena. Yakoob Yusuf Al-Thahim, a Kuwaiti donated funds for the building.
Leader of the All Ceylon People’s Congress and Minister of Trade and Commerce, Rishad Bathiudeen was the chief guest. Former Member of Parliament M.H.M. Navavi, District Secretary Chitra Nanda, parents, teachers, students and well-wishers including the family members of Yakoob Yusuf Al-Thahim were also present.
