For the first time in its history St. Peter’s College won major honours in hockey when their senior team ended as joint champions in the all-island Under-20 hockey tournament recently.
The Peterites were unbeaten in the tournament and met Zahira College, Matale in the final. The match ended in 0-0 draw for both teams to be declared joint winners.
The Peterites on their road to success beat Christ Church College, Matale 2-0 in the semi finals after defeating Trinity College 1-0 in the quarter finals. In the pre-quarter finals the Peterites beat Sirimavo Model School Matale 2-0.
In the group stages the Peterites beat Vijaya College, Matale 2-0, St. Sylvester’s College 1-0 and St. Aloysius’ College, Galle 1-0.
