With a better record than Serendib SC, Police SC are the firm favourites when they clash in the Premier League Division One football final to be played at the Sugathadasa Stadium under lights today.

Police SC beat New Star SC 4-0 in the semi-final while Serendib SC beat SLTB 3-1 in the other semi-final.

However, Police SC did not fare too well in the group stage having being held to a draw by Badowita United SC, Old Mazenodians SC and New Star SC. But in the Super Six round they beat St. Mary’s SC, Moragasmulla SC and Serendib SC. Serendib SC had a better record in the group stage having lost only one game to Moragasmulla SC (1-3). They lost only to Police SC in the Super Six round finishing off with a fine record. Nevertheless, the side that performs better today should come out on top and take the title to their club house.
