Defending champions Royal College overpowered Kingswood College 20-12 at Nittawela yesterday in their inter school league rugby match recording their fourth win.
Royal have beaten Malyadeva, S. Thomas’, Wesley and now Kingswood.
The loss leaves Kingswood with one win in four games.
In this game Royal outsmarted the Kingswoodains by scoring their 20 points off one goal, two tried and a penalty while Kingswood scored through four penalties. At half time the scoreboard read Royal 10, Kingswood 6.
The Royal College players were fit enough to play a good game and win in sapping heat and looked confident of beating any side.
They came out real fast and played some fine rugby and did what they wanted to. They knew they had the fitness to withstand their opponents.
Royal also raked in a bonus point in the process.
St. Sylvester’s beatMahanama
In another match of the inter-school league tournament St. Sylvester’s College beat Mahanama College 36-29 after leading 17-10 at half time.
The winners scored their points from four goals, one try and one penalty while Mahanama replied with three goals and one penalty.
