Hope by One Stage, the World Down Syndrome Day celebrations in Sri Lanka was held on March 24, 2019 at the Viharamahadevi open air theatre.. Hope by One stage was organised by the One Stage for all Association for down syndrome and Autistic children. An awareness walk around the Viharamahadevi Park and a mini carnival was held to celebrate these special people in our community. Two hundred and ten down syndrome children from all over the country took part in this event. The Down Syndrome’s Children’s Band took the lead at the parade. The latest generation of the One Stage family, a 100 new official volunteers supported these special children and their parents during the walk. Performances by Anonym and Double Black along with a special DJ session from Press Play, young budding artistes, Methun Sk and Dinesh Gamage followed.
