Maga wins IESL Engineering Excellence award

Construction company, Maga Engineering was awarded the ‘Excellence in Engineering Award’ for the fifth time in recognition of its excellence in the large-scale construction sector, at the coveted Excellence in Engineering Awards for 2018, at the BMICH recently.

It was organised by the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) with Army Commander Lt. Gen. Mahesh Senanayake as the chief guest.

The awards ceremony honoured the most distinctive engineering personalities and institutions which demonstrated excellence in their related academic disciplines and businesses. With this achievement, Maga Engineering becomes the organisation which has achieved the highest number of accolades of the IESL Engineering Excellence Awards.

Chairman and Managing Director of Maga Engineering, M. G. Kularatne said, “The award represents a major achievement for us at Maga and underscores Maga’s continued success as the leading institution in the construction sector and demonstrates our contributions towards the development of innovative engineering solutions, addressing the needs of our clients whilst supporting economic development.”

Maga is home to a workforce of over 10,000 and has a dynamic team that consists of 300 engineers. The company has rolled out an integrated resource management system across the organisation.

During the past few years, the company has completed several large-scale projects such as - the NSBM Green University Town, a 47-storey green building Clearpoint Residencies and 78-kilometre Ambepussa-Kurunegala-Trincomalee Road (A006) from Ambepussa to Galewela, while commencing work on several other projects such as the Prime Grand Apartment Complex, Kelaniya Right Bank Water Supply Project, Central Expressway from Maditiyawala to Kurunegala and the Southern Expressway from Matara to Beliatta.

The award also endorses Maga’s investments in developing its supply chains and communities across the country. Being a multidisciplinary construction company, Maga offers a diversified range of construction and allied services.
