Sri Lanka conducts Level One badminton course

Sri Lanka Badminton Association successfully conducted the BWF Level One coaching course and shuttle time tutor course which ended last week.

Asian regional badminton officer Nikil Chandra Dhar from Bangladesh once again came back to Sri Lanka to conduct this BWF level one coaching education course which lasted six days.

The selected 15 coaches from all over the country got chance to complete this course and SLBA chief Nishantha Jayasinghe made all arrangements for a successful course.

“This course is more important for the new coaches to complete their qualification and all the coaches were very satisfied after the conclusion of this course,” said Nikil Chandra Dhar the Regional Development officer of Badminton Asia .

The course covered most of the areas in both theory and practical.

Nikil Chandra said the course also involved physical fitness of the coaches

“During the course, coaches had to do assessments. We were also more concern about sport psychology, lifestyle and competition, how to design practice, group observation and analysis, how to plan the coaching, practical and theory tactics and then we did review and evaluate all areas,” said Chandra.
