Vesak festival

12 May, 2019

Vesak is a religious festival. It falls on the full moon Poya Day in May. We celebrate Vesak because it is the day of Prince Siddhartha’s birth, enlightenment and passing away. On this day we go to temple and worship. Most Buddhists observe sil. We make bucket lanterns and light oil lamps. Vesak is a very colourful festival.
