AG sends advice on interim reports to President

The Attorney General’s advice on the interim reports of the ‘Special Investigation Committee to look into bombing incidents which occurred on Easter Sunday’ will be sent to the Presidential Secretariat tomorrow (13) the Sunday Observer learns.

According to the Attorney General’s (AG) department sources, the Presidential Secretariat had sent the second interim report to the AG’s department last week, and the latter is currently reviewing the reports. “They are being reviewed by the AG himself, and his advice will be intimated to the Presidential Secretariat on Monday” the sources said.

President Maithripala Sirisena appointed the three member special committee spearheaded by Supreme Court Judge Vijith Malalgoda and comprising the former Inspector General of Police N. K. Ilangakoon and former Ministry Secretary Padmasiri Jayamanne, on April 22, the day following the Easter Sunday attacks.
