Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe called on Most Ven.Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thera at the Malwatu Maha Vihara, Kandy.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said every step should be taken to preserve the common Sri Lankan identity reflected in every religion without paving the way for extremism to destroy it. The Premier, after calling on the Mahanayake Theras of Asgiri, Malwathu and Ramanna Nikayas, told the media at Sri Vidyasagara Maha Pirivena, Menikhinna recently, that he invited the Mahanayake Theras to take initiative in restoring peace in the country after the Easter Sunday bomb attacks.
