The Under 16 girls and boys basketball teams from the Kandy district won both Championships at the Invitation Basketball Tournament held recently at the Machchangolhi Youth Centre, Maldives organized by the Maldives Basketball Association.
At the Under 16 girls final Kandy district team beat Kalaafaanu School, Maldives 67-56 while in the Under 16 boys final Kandy district beat Maris Stella College, Negombo by 52-46.
Amavi Dodanwela and Koshila Weerakoon were the best girls players while the best players from among the boys were Malindu Lokumarambge and Ravindu Rankothge.
