Vidyartha College and St. Sylvester’s College emerged victorious in their schools rugby ‘Plate’ championship encounters played in Kandy yesterday.
Vidyartha overwhelmed their home town neighbours Sri Sumangala College by 29 points to 3 at Nittawela.
Vidyartha led 19-nil at half time.
Vidyartha scored five tries and two conversions while Sri Sumangala scored a penalty.
St. Sylvester’s College beat Prince of Wales by 10 points to 5 at Bogambara.
St. Sylvester’s scored two tries while Prince of Wales replied with a try. All scoring was done in the second half.
