Indian celebrities are expected to take part in Colombo Fashion Week (CFW) which will be held in Colombo and in Galle next month.
This can have a positive impact on the tourism industry, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Chairman, Kishu Gomes told the Sunday Observer.
He said several celebrities, from the sports and entertainment industries have been approached, to give glamour and glitz to the event.
“We’ve been shown a list of celebrities, and a certain percentage are expected to come over. As far as I know negotiations are being conducted with the biggest and the best stars,” Gomes said.
“India is the largest market for us. We get the highest number of tourists from India, and potentially, it’s huge,” he said.
The Chairman said they have also conducted many other promotional campaigns to bring in more Indian tourists.
