Dilrukshi Perera who won two Gold medals and three Silver medals (swimming and athletics) at the last National Games receiving her award from Maithri Gunaratne, Governer of the Central Province -L. Udayangani who won a Gold Medal in Boxing (75 Kgs) receiving her award from Kumudu Karunaratne

Sportsmen and women of the Central Province were awarded with trophies at a ceremony conducted at the Provincial Council Auditorium where the governor of the Central Province Maithri Gunaratne was the chief guest.
The award winners were picked by their performances at the last National Games.
The winners were Udaya Ranasinghe (TT), PGLG Weerasuriya (hockey), WAI Sanjaya (boxing), TMDV Yatigammana (chess), HMSJ Abeysinghe (chess), RCN Dharmawardena (judo), GGSC Senaratne (wrestling), NUT Mahanama (bodybuilding) and WAK Perera (rugby)
