Oldest tennis tournament begins

Sri Lanka’ oldest tennis tournament which is the famous Colombo Championship conducted for the 104th year began on July 5 at the SLTA (playing section) courts at Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha.

The Tennis 10s tournament of the Colombo Championships will be held from July 26 to 28.

“We are very happy to be involved with this prestigious tournament for the fourth consecutive year. We believe sport is vital for the health of the nation and are strongly committed to supporting the Colombo Championships which has a history going back to 104 years.

“We at Vision Care believe that tennis provides an opportunity for not only the youth but every age category to participate in an outdoor and healthy sporting activity,” said Janaka Fonseka the Managing Director of Vision Care.
