Sri Lanka volleyball team eyes top finish at Asia Cup

A 12-member strong U-23 women’s volleyball team left Sri Lanka to compete for a top finish at the Asian Women’s U-23 Volleyball Championship 2019 in Hanoi, Vietnam. In the previous Asian championship, Sri Lanka secured the 12th place while Japan became the overall champs. In this year’s tourney Sri Lanka is in Pool D and will compete against Kazakhstan, Hong Kong and Macau in the preliminary round matches.

The team is sponsored by Dialog Axiata, Sri Lanka’s most prolific sponsor of sports that includes cricket, rugby and football among others.
