Aaron and Jaden Gunawardena compete for supremacy

Pramuka Sesath was the best rider at the Hutch Super Series round One which concluded on last Sunday (14) at the Kanway circuit were over 150 riders were in action. On his way to win this award Pramuka won both races in the Group Super Sports Races 1 and comfortably ahead of Nadun and Fuard while in race two. He out-drove Jaden and Nadun to clinch the title. Jaden was declared the runner-up.

Aaron, the brother of Jaden, a favourite in the this class who was challenging Pramuka had to bow out of the race as he faced a nasty accident a few laps away from the finish line. With his bike having many damages he could not continue the race.

In Group M Super Sports Class bikes up to 600cc it was a battle between the Gunawardena brothers Jaden and Aaron. The younger Jaden was in control of the race from the beginning but Aaron managed to go past the line before his brother. This year the organizers conducted two events for Honda 160cc and Yamaha XT 250cc for Special Task Force riders. Hansika Abeysinghe the young student who took to motorcycle racing on the same track two years ago, took to the 160cc bikes and showed that she is capable of challenging her opposite sex when she once again beat her male counterparts in the Group O Standard Motorcycles.

An unexpected crowd witnessed a great day of racing at this meet as all leading riders came up with their best on the track.
