In the latest of its educational and training collaborations with the corporate sector, the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) will offer a scholarship to the top performing insurance agents of Union Assurance (UA).

This scholarship will provide the high achievers of the Union Assurance Bancassurance team an opportunity to follow a customised Certificate in Professional Selling (CPS) program sponsored by the company.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SLIM and Union Assurance PLC took place at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo recently.

The Certificate in Professional Selling (CPS) is designed to provide a vital professional qualification for sales teams and enable them to achieve success in today’s ultra-competitive marketplace, while helping them grow, both as individuals and professionals. The program will also consist of industry examples by a highly knowledgeable and qualified panel of lecturers.

SLIM will include exams, a log book, assignments and integrate the individual company KPIs along with the attendance.

President of SLIM, Suranjith Swaris said, “From an individual perspective, the education pathway created by the Certificate in Professional Selling could take any sales person to the top of their careers, thereby contributing to the revenue growth of their employer.

Director/CEO, Union Assurance, Dirk Pereira said, “For a rapidly growing company such as ours, providing education and training to our staff is a priority.”

CEO/Executive Director of SLIM, Sanath Senanayake said, “This is the latest in a series of partnership agreements that SLIM has entered into with top corporate entities over the years.”

Assistant General Manager of Bancassurance, Union Assurance, Samantha Herath said, “Practicing sales and marketing to suit the local context is vital as the Sri Lankan market has its own unique attributes.”
