Anura Rohana wins Altair Open golf

The RCGC Altair Open Championship was contested by 60 golfers from all over the country with M Dharma from India as the sole overseas entry from overseas.

It marked the third consecutive year that Altair sponsored the prestigious tournament which was resurrected in 2017 after 11 years.

Sri Lanka’s top three professional golfers in Anura Rohana, Mithun Perera and N. Thangaraja fought a hard battle to the end on tough windy conditions with Anura Rohana emerging as a comfortable winner beating Thangaraja to second place by four shots.

Defending champion Mithun Perera finished in third place.

It was the eighth time that Anura Rohana produced a victory in the RCGC Open Championship.

Some 25 golfers made the cut with prize money of Rs. 1 million on offer.
