NSB win cricket title

National Savings Bank (NSB) emerged champions of the Division One, Nationalized Services Limited Overs Cricket Tournament 2019 by beating the strong Bank of Ceylon (BOC) by one wicket in the last ball in the final that was played at the NSCA ground, Ratmalana on July 30.

It was the most competitive and tense final ever played in the history of Nationalized Services Cricket Association (NSCA) tournaments.

Deciding to bat first BOC scored 183 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs. Prasanna top scored with 52 runs.

In their chase NSB also lost wickets at regular intervals but managed to reach the target in the last ball to score 184 for nine wickets.

Diluka Bandara batted well to score an unbeaten 57 runs for NSB.

NSB reached the final by beating the tournament favourites, Sri Lanka Ports Authority by 30 runs in the semi-finals.

Ten teams participated in this tournament.
