Galahitiyawa cricketer goes places

Sandaruwan Chinthaka the under-19 allrounder who displayed outstanding performances with the bat and ball for Galahitiyawa Central during the last two seasons is going places with the matches played and was selected to the Sri Lanka Youth pool.

Last season Sandaruwan scored 1150 runs and took 60 wickets with his right arm leg spin bowling and was selected to play for Western Province Colombo team.

He is the only cricketer from the Gampaha district schools to be selected to play for Western Province and with his performance in the inter province matches played and also the talents displayed at the training he has impressed the selectors and was short listed for the national pool. He is undergoing training under the guidance of Sri Lanka Cricket and has been nominated for the most up-and-coming cricketer for the 2018/2019 school season.

Analysts who have seen Sandaruwan in action say that he has the potential to go further for national recognition.
