Veteran soccerites of Maligawatte Youth Sports Club are scheduled to leave tomorrow for Malaysia to participate in a Global Veterans Soccer tournament that will be played in Malacca.
The other countries taking part in this tournament are Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, South Africa, Bangladesh, Yemen, India (2 teams) and Malaysia.
The Maligawatte Veterans team will be accompanied by coach Mahesh Dushmantha while the president of Maligawatte Youth SC (veterans’ section) S. Sivakumar serves as the manager. Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) president Anura de Silva and Regional Director of the FFSL and president of Colombo City Football League R. Puvendran too will join the tour party.
The tournament will commence on August 16 and finish on August 20. (BP)
