St Paul’s Girls impress at cadeting

St. Paul’s Girls School won the first place at the annual assessment camp held at the naval girls’ cadet corps training camp at Rantambe, winning the championship for the first time.

The Naval Girls’ cadet corps recommenced after Sumedha Jayaweera assumed duties as the principal of SPM in 2015. With her wise guidence unshakable determination she provided all the required needs at the correct time to the cadets overcoming all the challenges faced by the Platoon. They won the first place in the drill display, the firing competition, and in presentation. They bagged the third place in physical exercises.

Twenty five schools participated in the event. Petty Officer K. R. Thisathma of St. Paul’s Girls School Milagiriya was selected as the best commander and Able Seaman M.K. Danawalawithanage as the best shooter.
