AIA staff clean up Mahiyangana hospital

Sixty of AIA’s staff from the head office and regional offices from as far as the North and East, gathered to travel to Mahiyanganaya to give the 50-year-old Mahiyanganaya Base Hospital a cleanup and a new coat of paint.

The hospital cares for a large number of patients, with the OPD catering to a population of over 550,000 in the region. AIA’s team of enthusiastic volunteers colour-washed and cleaned the entire OPD unit and also renovated the two washrooms.

The medical superintendent of Mahiyanganaya base hospital, Dr. Prasad Jayasundara thanked AIA for their efforts and said that this will certainly help in enabling a positive environment for patients.
