D.S. Senanayake is a famous national hero. He was born in Bothale, Mirigama. He was the First Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. He worked hard for Sri Lanka’s freedom. His hobby was riding horses during his leisure. He studied at S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia. He was a champion in sports and had two brothers and a sister. He got married to Molly Dunuwila. They had two sons. D.S. Senanayake was the person who improved agriculture in our country. He died in 1952 and is known as the Father of our Nation.
