Sigiriya is one of the most important historical places in Sri Lanka. It is a fortress built on the top of a rock and situated in the Matale District. According to history, it was built by King Kashyapa to escape from his brother. There are many important things to see in Sigiriya, such as the frescoes, mirror walls and the lion’s mouth. Locals and foreigners visit Sigiriya. It is one of the world’s famous wonders. We must protect this important historical place.
