She sits at the window
Watching the adorable bird family that dwell
In the mango tree
The baby birds are singing cheerfully.
Their company recalls the pleasures of the days
When charming laughter echoed in her house
And Joy and happiness reigned in her heart.
She sacrificed her sweat, tears, hunger and thirst
For her darling children
She forgot her hard toil and woes
When they triumphed the world
But Now,
The bird family is twittering mournfully.
Their melancholy tune embraces her solitariness.
Her heart aches.
She sits yet at the window
Hoping a shimmer of light would
Engulf the darkness of her innocent heart
