Rajini Thiranagama Memorial Lecture

A memorial lecture titled ‘Being Muslim in Sri Lanka today: minority identities and democratic space in the aftermath of the Easter bombings’ will be held on September 21 at 4.00 p.m. at Trimmer Hall, Vembadi Road, Jaffna to mark the 30th death anniversary of Dr. Rajini Thiranangama.

The lecture will be delivered by Senior Lecturer, Department of Sociology, University of Colombo, Dr. Farzana Haniffa. The event has been organised by the Rajani Thiranagama Memorial Committee of the Jaffna People’s Forum for Coexistence.

Dr. Thiranagama, academic, activist and co-author of the Broken Palmyra was gunned down by the LTTE on September 21, 1989.
