British School marks 25 years

The British School in Colombo (BSC) marked their 25th Anniversary celebrations last week during a Special Assembly. It was held under the patronage of the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Mrs. Sarah Hulton OBE.

The Principal of BSC, Dr John Scarth delivering the key note address emphasised on their vision to be a world class school and the need to work hard to achieve the desired goals.

Over the course of a quarter of a century the edifice, size and scope of the school may have changed but what has clearly remained consistent is an ethos of aspiration, achievement and the cultivation of a love of learning. It was such a pleasure to see so many alumni attending Founders Day, their affection towards the school was tangible.

Whilst their lives may have taken them on many quests, to each corner of the globe, the entity which unites them is the reverence in which they hold the BSC. This legacy is down to every parent, student, teacher and member of support staff who have contributed to the school over the past 25 years.
