The Sun is the largest star in the solar system. It is made of gases such as Hydrogen and Helium. Hydrogen accounts for more than 70 per cent and Helium 27 percent.

The Sun’s diametre is 1,390,473 km, that is 109 times larger than earth. The surface of the Sun is known as photosphere and its temperature is 5537 degrees C. The core temperature is 15 million degrees C. The Sun holds 99.56 per cent of the solar system.
