Rohan Sanjaya of Tissa Maha Vidyalaya, Kalutara, was jubilant as he is when he takes a wicket when he was awarded Best Bowler. Speaking of the award, he said, “I’m excited and elated. This award is immense value to me,” said Sanjaya.
He credited the award to a team effort. “Especially as a bowler, you can’t win such an award without the support on the field.”
Sanjaya said that he has achieved most of his goals and his next target is to perform well in the Under 19 matches and then break into the national circuit.
His award-winning performance comprises claiming a hat-trick, bowling his school to a 34-run win over Holy Cross College, Kalutara.
Sanjaya said his confidence has soared after winning the award and that he would make use of it to further his cricket career.
