Mr Twiddle Fetches Polly begins with Mrs. Twiddle asking her husband to fetch a little girl named Polly from Miss Pepper at Grey Roofs who is going away for a few days. Mr. Twiddle is reading the newspaper and does not hear what his wife is saying. She manages to get his attention and he listens to what she is saying about fetching Polly who would be staying with them for a few days.

But Mr. Twiddle forgets to fetch Polly and sits in the garden which makes Mrs. Twiddle very cross. Mr. Twiddle hurries indoors to get his hat and stick and goes to fetch Polly but he goes to the wrong house and fetches a parrot named Polly. He brings the parrot home where it creates chaos and they find peace only after the little girl Polly arrives and offers to take the parrot back.

When the Sun Rises is about little birds and rabbits who go to sleep at night but wake because the night is long and cold. They watch the sky for the sun to rise and see the grey light in the sky grow brighter and the sun coming up. The birds and rabbits scamper about in the sunshine and play together.

Mr Twiddle and the Dog Tinker is about a little dog called Tinker who Mrs. Twiddle brings home because its owner Mrs. Lanton is going away for a few days and she asked her if she could keep her dog while she is away. Tinker is very good natured and loveable and makes Mr. and Mrs. Twiddle very happy.
