Australian travel agents complete FAM tour of Sri Lanka

A group of over 60 Australian travel agents arrived in Sri Lanka recently on a week-long tour, under the guidance of Chairman of the Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO), Dennis Bunnik.

The travel agents represented all parts of Australia including Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane. On their final day in Colombo they were given a dinner to mark their tour in Sri Lanka

The guests included Chairman, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau,Kishu Gomes, Chairman, CATO, Dennis Bunnik, PR officer to Tourism Minister John Amaratunga, Anne Amaratunga, Senior Advisor to the Minister, Felix Rodrigo and Director Marketing, SLTPB, Dushan Wickramasuriya.

The guests had the opportunity to go on a tour of the iconic Galle Face Hotel. Chairman of CATO, Dennis Bunnik said, “Keep being Sri Lanka. Don’t try to be something that you’re not. Stay true the Sri Lanka spirit and stay true to this country. We need to keep a unique Sri Lankan flavor. Tourism can be really beneficial for a country because tourism helps every level of society.” The event was organized by Bunnik Tours in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.
