The International Research Conference on Management and Finance (IRCMF) organised by the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, will be held on Friday October 25, for the 14th consecutive year.

The keynote speaker at the conference will be Dr.Asanga Thilakarathne – former Senior Chair, Prof of Pali and Buddhist Studies of the University of Colombo.

His speech titled ‘Need for a Paradigm Shift: A Metta-based Approach to Business’ will be of immense value to management academics and practitioners.

Through this conference, the faculty attempts to continue its rich academic tradition of enabling academics of the management discipline to engage, debate and present their on-going research work.

This year the research papers are presented under several conference tracks such as Accounting, Business Economics and Finance, Human Resource Management, Management,

Organisation Studies and International Business, Hospitality, Marketing and Tourism.

In addition to the presentation of academic papers, the conference includes the Doctoral Colloquium with the main conference, enabling current and prospective doctoral students to present their research ideas and obtain valuable feedback to progress in their research.

The conference also hosts an ‘Industrial Dialogue’after lunch, enabling both academics and practitioners to bridge industry phenomena, concerns and trends by inspiring researchers with new research ideas.

Industry professionals will also explore solutions to their contemporary organisational problems.

The industry dialogue is hosted on the theme ‘Generations at Work: Understanding, Managing and Working with Generations Y and Z’.

Through a panel of experts who had dealt with these two generations in various capacities using different leadership styles, the industry dialogue expects to discuss how organisations can get a better understanding of these generations at work.
