Yasitha Warnakulasuriya
Yasitha Warnakulasuriya of Musaeus College, Colombo became the Under-12 tennis champion at the Open Ranking Tennis Tournament held at the Garden Club courts, Kandy last week organized by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association.
She beat Dulkini Ranasinghe of VishakaVidyalaya Colombo in the Under 12 girls final.
Yasitha is coached by Anupama Maththamagoda of the ACM Sports Acadamy at the Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club in Colombo while her school coach is G. Subramaniam.
Her victory is seen as a stepping stone to more laurels in the coming months and years according to analysts.
