The Thaabit Ahmed Football Academy (TAFA) launched a nursery called Trooper Rugby recently at the Racecourse Ground in Colombo in response to increasing interest among boys and girls in childhood development through fitness and sport.

Over 40 beginners have already enlisted in the academy and more children are expected to enroll according to the organisers. Commenting on the launch of Trooper Rugby, its Founder, TAFA Coaching, Thaabit Ahmed said: “I am pleased to be supporting a fantastic coach (Bilal Hassen) in this new venture. “I have worked with Bilal Hassen for the past four years and have seen him develop and thrive at TAFA. Now it is time for him to branch out and see how far he can take Trooper Rugby.” TAFA was founded in 2009 by Thaabit Ahmed, to offer coaching to young athletes in Colombo and Galle.Trooper Rugby offers boys and girls aged 3-14 years the equal opportunity to learn the ABCs (Agility, Balance and Coordination) of rugby in a fun, safe and professional environment with development of physical and mental skills given top priority.
