Daniel blasts 84 with seven sixes

Unbeaten Western Province (North) emerged champions of the Prima Champions Trophy Inter-Provincial Cricket tournament when they beat North Western Province by 69 runs on the D/L system in the final played at R. Premadasa stadium yesterday.

Sent in to bat first Western Province (North) scored 249 runs in 47 overs with kipper Shevon Daniel scoring 84 runs off just 49 deliveries that included eight boundaries and seven sixes.

North Western Province scored 100 for 6 wickets in 25 overs when play was halted due to rain.

According to the DL system they should have scored 169 runs off 25 overs.
