Ranatunga heads Colts with plans for state-of-the-art development

Colombo Colts Cricket Club, the oldest Ceylonese Cricket Club founded in 1873, held its 146th Annual General Meeting last month with the participation of a large number of Members where Nishantha Ranatunga was re-elected as president unanimously for the ensuing year 2019/20.

Trevor Rajaratnam was re-elected Patron while Jagath Savanadasa and Tissa Abeywardena were elected Vice Patrons.

K Mathivanam, Jagath Savanadasa and and Tissa Abeywardena were elected as Trustees.

Eastman Narangoda, Chaminda Vaas and K. Shakthidasan were elected as Vice Presidents with Brigadier Shiran Abeysekera as General Secretary and M. Ratnaharan as the Treasurer.

Rajeev Munasinghe was elected as the Assistant General Secretary, Chandika Jayawardena as the Assistant Treasurer and Dinesh Wickramanayake as the club captain.

Kusal Perera was appointed as the cricket team captain, Dias Muthukuda as the billiards captain, Nuwan Seneviratne as hockey captain, Anaka Boram as the women’s hockey captain and Shiromi Athukorala as women’s cricket captain.

During the AGM, Ranatunga briefed the membership gathered on plans to convert the club into a state-of-the-art sports facility which will include a modern gymnasium, swimming pool, streamlined dining and bar facilities, dressing rooms and more.
