Wishma set to dazzle movie lovers

Sinhala cinema has seen tremendous growth, in the past decade. A young and inspired set of actors have been busy over the past few months on location at Colombo, Bulathsinhala, Horana, Mathugama and Avisawella. The Sinhala movie Wishma (the blessing) is about to be released. Executive Producer Sanadmali Ruhunage said “This is a movie inspired by a quote from the famous musician Bono. He said music can change the world because music can change people. This movie has eight songs”.

The youthful team behind the making of this movie are Ranidka Wijemane (Director),Prageeth de Silva (Assistant Director), Dhammika Gunasena (Production Manager), Nishan Fernando (Director of Photography) Nilantha Ranasinghe (Art Director) Ubhaya Dissanayake (Makeup unit). The musical score is written by Sameera Weerasinghe and Lalinda Hapugoda. The main roles in the movie are played by Saranga Disasekera,Dinakshie Priyasad, Roshan Pilapitiya and Umayangana Wickremesinghe. The film also casts some child artistes.

The story focuses on the adventurous journey of a child in search of his father. The script was written by Sanadamali Ruhunage and Shiraz Razeen. The movie is produced by 2S Ventures Limited and used latest film making technology including 5.1 surround sounds. Sandamali Ruhunage added “We took almost one year to do the script. The entire process of filming was very interesting at the various locations. It was completed in about 22 days. My venture into films comes from my background from acting in school dramas. In this movie I play the role of a school music teacher. I thank all the cast and crew for their support. I am confident that fans will enjoy this movie”. (DJ)
